National Championship – Groups

On October 2–5, in Sofia Hall, the most spectacular competition of the year took place – the Groups in categories Elite and A.
Our start in category A was more than golden. Our girls won the titles in all three age groups in which we participated – Children under 11, Pre-junior and Juniors.

The success was even greater because our second Children under 11 group placed second in the all-around. Both groups qualified for both finals, and the first group managed to win another bronze medal for their routine without apparatus. This is the highest category in which the youngest gymnasts compete.

In category Elite, the Senior Group won silver medals in the all-around and with their routine with five ribbons. The Juniors were just a step away from the podium in the all-around but won bronze medals with five ribbons.

  • 2nd place All-Around, 8th place Final, 4th place Final - Children under 11 A – Team 2 – Viktoriya Georgieva, Gabriela Nesheva, Mariya Gotseva, Mariya Kraleva, Sirma Puvkova

World Championships

On August 20–24, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil was the capital of the biggest forum for the year. Alina Kolomiets, as part of the Bulgarian group, became team vice-champion, 6 th place all-around, 5th place of the final.

 

 National Chapionship category B Groups

On June 26-28 in Shumen the last and most popular competition for the season. The children up to 11 years old - 1st team ranked in top 8th.

  • Pre-junior - Debora Daskalova, Elena Chembekchis, Martina Kovacheva, Paolina Radoslavova, Siyana Koleva 
  • 2-3 Junior - Ilina Nikolova, Nikol Dimitrova, Stefaniya Kostova

 

Boryana Kaleyn

On June 22, Bulgaria’s “silver girl” said farewell to the gymnastics world with an emotional performance. The show, titled “Reborn”, told the story of her journey — from her first day in the gym, her first victories, her debut on the big stage, through the challenges she faced, and finally, her greatest success: overcoming herself and standing on the Olympic podium.

The leading role, Boryana Kaleyn, was supported on the carpet by the gymnasts of the Club, and the benefit gala concluded with heartfelt speeches from Mariyana Pamukova (her personal coach), Iliana Raeva (President of the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation), Branimira Markova (head coach of the individual national team), and Boryana herself.

World Junior Championships

On June 19–22, Sofia was the capital of the biggest forum for junior gymnasts. Ivayla Velkovska, as part of the Bulgarian junior group, became team champion, all-around champion, gold medalist in the 5 hoops final, and bronze medalist in the 5 pairs of clubs final.

Coaches and judges from the club were once again part of the organizing committee of the major event, and our youngest gymnasts had the honor of participating in the opening ceremony and performing short dances at the finals.

Congratulations to the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation, the coaches, and all participating gymnasts for the medals won!

 

Gymnastics for All

On June 15 in Plovdiv, the National Competition for the most inclusive gymnastics discipline took place — with no restrictions on age, gender, or skill level. The focus is on mass participation and performance appeal.

Part of the silver wave in age group II (8–11 years) with the “Doll Dance” were:
Aneli Tabova, Beloslava Berbatova, Beloslava Dimitrova, Vanesa Halacheva, Veronika Koleva, Ema Panteleeva, Yoana Dimitrova, Kari Bradinska, Mirela Hristova, Radostina Bratanova, Raya Pechenyakova, Sofia Nenova, Sofia Todorova.

The older “rock girls” joined the golden wave in age group III (12–18 years):
Aleksandra Nikolova, Bela Banova, Vela Kmetska, Veliana Todorova, Daria Kabi, Edzhe Kyazim, Elena Kamenova, Zhаклин Georgieva, Karina Radeva, Magdalena Stavreva, Mila Miteva, Nia Georgieva, Nikol Ivanova, Nikol Simeonova, Tsvetina Atanasova, Tsvetina Chencheva, Yana Georgieva.

 

European Championships

On June 4–8 in Tallinn, Estonia, the continental championship took place, where club gymnasts Ivayla Velkovska (junior group), Alina Kolomiets and Viktoria Georgieva (senior group) were part of Bulgaria’s national team.
The junior group placed fifth in the all-around and won a medal in the final with 5 pairs of clubs.
The senior group made several mistakes and remained outside the top eight.

 

National Championships “A”

From May 30 to June 1 in Sofia, the national championship for senior and junior was held — the second strongest category.
Maya Dobreva won bronze in the all-around among junior, gold with ball, and participated in the all finals.
Yoana Vasileva (junior) and Gabriela Stoilova (senior) also qualified for the finals with individual apparatus.

Dayana Dimitrova, who trains at the club but competes for “Velbazhd” Sports Club and works as a coach with beginners, placed fourth in the all-around and won bronze in the clubs final.

From June 5–8 in Veliko Tarnovo, the competition for younger age groups was held.
In the 9-year-old category, Mariya Gotseva won a bronze medal in the all-around and participated in two finals. Deyana Nemtseva earned a place among the top eight.
In the pre-junor category, Kaya Ganeva won bronze with ribbon, and Karina Milkova took silver with hoop.
Gabriela Nesheva, Maria Kraleva (children 9 year-old), Zara Puhleva, Yana Yovcheva, Martina Tomova, Viktoria Georgieva (children under 11) also passed qualifications and competed in the all-around in their ages categories.

 

National Championships “Elite”

From May 23–25 in Sofia, the most prestigious competition of the season took place — the “Elite” category, individual.

Daria Mancheva (pre-junior) and Ivana Yankulova (junior) performed successfully in the all-around and qualified for apparatus finals.

Andrea Angelova, a gymnast of “Lokomotiv” Sports Club competing for our club on loan, took part in the senior category.

 

National Team Championships

From March 17 to 21, one of the most competitive and prestigious events of the season took place at the “Sofia” Hall in the capital. The goal of the competition is to identify the best clubs in various age categories. The teams of the club in the Pre-junior and Junior age groups consisted of gymnasts who were in their first year in their respective categories, but all competed bravely and fought their way into the top eight.

We express our gratitude to the SC Rhythmic Gymnastics Club “Lokomotiv” for allowing us to rent one of their gymnasts in the seniors category, which enabled us to maintain our participation. This was also an important start for our youngest gymnasts in children under 11, who are gaining valuable experience and setting new goals for better performance.

The National Championships season has begun

On March 8, the first official competition was held – Stage 1 of the National Championship for groups, "Elite" category. The Juniors Team 1and Seniors groups qualified for the second stage, which will be held in October. In this stage, the “Elite” category group participate with two routines.

Also participating in the qualification round were the groups from Pre-junior and Juniors Team 2, who made some errors and did not make it into the top eight. They will continue their preparation for Category "A".

Dream of Triumph!

Musical album

As part of the charity campaign for the renovation of the club's hall, initiated by Boryana Kaleyn and Olympic champions from the ensemble Laura Traets and Madlen Radukanova, the "Team of Good People" joined in. They created a musical album to support the club. "Dream of Triumph" features lyrics by Mariana Dobreva Pishtalova, music by Borislav Mirchev, arrangements by Alex Nushev, and performances by Dicho, Etien Levi, and the vocal group "Srednogorski Zvan." All the drawings in the album are by Boryana Kaleyn, who also performs one of the songs.
